Hi my friend is always drinking because he is sad about his wife, being hypothyriod.He loves her a lot, but cant do anything i tried telling him not to worry but did not work. He is so sad, that one can't even immagine. please tell what is hypothyriod is it so bad is she going to die. what shall i tell him, he is going on asking me what will hapen and i dont even know what to tell please help?

It is curable through diet, iodine therapy or other things. Or some people just take medication their whole lives for it. But it is definitely curable/manageable. Lots of people have it. Not sure what sort of shitty doctor made your friend feel so bad that he feels the need to drink himself to death over this... It's really pretty common. I used to have a very low thyroid (I was shivering cold at 70 degrees and tired ALL the time) and I cured it with iodine therapy and diet changes.
